Kevin TranHello to All..."I write to say what I cannot speak" |
My name is Kevin Tran. I am currently a junior at John Jay College of Criminal Justice currently majoring in Forensic Psychology and minoring in Anthropology, Class of 2018.
I am a native New Yorker, born and raised in the Bronx. My family is from South Vietnam and found refuge in the United States during the Vietnam War. College has been a different experience for me and something that still amazes me to this day. My goal after college is to help children with mental illness disorders, as well as the children in our Youth Detention Centers, also known as the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC). I want to be able to help these children succeed even with the various obstacles that they must endure. During my leisure time, I happen to be a major hometown sports fan following the New York Knicks, Yankees, and the Giants. Outside of sports, I love to travel and explore new places and to try new things. I am an avid music lover. I enjoy helping others, and usually spend most of my winters coaching in an intramural basketball program for kids in the 3rd through 8th grades. I want to be able to make a difference in a person’s life because there have been a couple people that have made a difference in mine and I want to be able to leave the same impact in someone else’s life. |
