My name is Giselle Ramirez. I’m currently a Forensic Psychology major and graduating in June 2018. I’m a first generation college student, so there’s a bit of pressure there, but my family is supportive most of the time. I came to John Jay in August 2015 with an Associate's Degree from my high school, which sounded pretty cool back in 9th grade. However, down the road it became clear that the faster I graduated college, the faster I would be thrown into adulthood, so I decided to take it slow. Weirdly enough I love school and shopping for school supplies are what I live for every fall semester, so it worked out!
Aside from the reality of adulthood, being so ahead of the game also meant not being able to join many clubs or even start a minor because I was too late and had to get started on joining research teams instead. I’m hoping that with this opportunity at the Zine, I can establish a stronger relationship with the writer within and to pursue the Anthropology minor I’ve always wanted. In regards to my writing style and focus, I probably will never stick to one writing topic, just like my life goals they're constantly at a lost. So instead I hope to embrace my rants on topics that I think are interesting and considerably expandable within pop culture. However, I’m confident that my psychology background will show from time to time, so I’ll be sure to be less analytical and more me. |
